Stanley Johnson , age 85 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away November 18, 2021 at his home under the care of Halo Hospice.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Bryce Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow at Violet Springs Cemetery in Konawa. Casket bearers are Jody Johnson, Jordon Garner, Jacob Garner, Dylan Fry, Darrel Walker, and Doug Childress.
Stanley was born October 31, 1936 in Konawa to John Thomas “Bud” Johnson and Audra Bernice (Kirkwood) Johnson. He graduated from Konawa High School in 1954 and from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor’s Degree. He married Carolyn Campbell January 20, 1956 in Konawa. Stanley was a farmer and rancher most of his life. He was member of the Konawa School Board and a member of the First Baptist Church of Konawa. He loved horse racing and taking care of his cattle.
He is survived by one son, Mickey Johnson and wife, JoAnn of Konawa; one daughter, Ronda Garner and husband, Gordon of Konawa; one sister, Yvonne Walker of Konawa; two special sons, Darrell Mackey and Rick Stevenson; four grandchildren, LaDawna “Punkin” Fry, Jody Johnson, Jordon Garner, and Jacob Garner; and three great grandchildren, Ashley Fry, Dylan Fry, and Sevy Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Johnson and Audra Clayton; and his wife, Carolyn Johnson.
