Jimmy Daniel Grant

February 26, 1941 — May 30, 2022

Jimmy Daniel Grant, Cromwell, moved to his Heavenly address on Monday May 30, 2022.  Jimmy was born on February 26, 1941 in Fame, Oklahoma to Alfred Daniel & Sophie Lee Grant.  He received his high school diploma by attending Seminole Schools.  Jim & Barbara Ferguson were married May 7, 1961 at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church in Wewoka.  Jim worked with his brother Jeff building swimming pools, oilfield with Foster Drilling and Joe Mills.  Jim, Barbara & their 3 children moved from Seminole to Cromwell in 1971 where he began working for Butner Public School.  He was janitor, bus driver, bus maintenance/coordinator for over 20 years and then began doing construction and carpentry work with his brother Jeff and then his nephew Kevin.

Jim enjoyed building & remodeling houses, churches or any other type of structure he thought he could.  He would sit and draw out designs & plans for woodwork craft items and then work in his garage/shop for hours on end putting those ideas into the finished product.  He loved singing and when Jim & Barbara formed a gospel singing group “The Glory Road Singers” he rarely passed up an opportunity to go to a singing or host many singing over the years.  He continued to sing when the group changed to “The Grant Family” up until his time to go to his heavenly home.

Jim is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Shelia & Suzann and son Daniel (Danny) all of Cromwell.  Granddaughters Ashton & husband Justin Real and Penelope Grant.  Great grandchildren Corbin Adam, Creed Daniel & Teagan Jayde Grace Real.  Sisters Carole Grant, Linda & husband David Kelsey, brother Lynn Ray Grant all of Okemah, Larry & wife Joan Killilay of Porum, sister-in-law Carmeletta Grant, Cromwell & Ray Meeks, Wewoka and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his sister Ann Killilay, brother Jeff Grant & Jesse Montano, nephew Kevin Killilay and his aunts and uncles and many cousins.
