Zelma Lee (Honsinger) McCraw , age 82 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Sienna Extended Care in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church near Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate, and burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Bo Honsinger, Alan Bassett, Jake McCraw, Hunter Dobbs, Colton Dobbs, Remington Dobbs, and Garren Graves.

Zelma was born April 23, 1938 in Vanoss, Oklahoma, to Oscar Lee Honsinger and Thelma Pearl (Hunt) Lehman.  She was a waitress for Prairie Kitchen in Ada, Oklahoma, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa.  The seeds of Zelma’s faith and love of her family were planted early in life by the examples set by her grandparents, Ezra and Nettie Hunt who raised Zelma and her siblings, Robert and Rita.  Zelma loved fishing, gardening, traveling, dancing, enjoying hot sunny days, and helping Glen feed the cows.  She retired from Hilton Hotels in Oakland, California and returned to Oklahoma in 1989.  Ed and Laura McCraw raised their seven children with the same values in faith and family as the Hunts.  Zelma was blessed to be part of that love of these two families.  A special thanks to Carolyn McCraw-Bassett for chauffeuring many trips to the doctor and for her friendship over the years.

She is survived by Glen McCraw of the home; one son, Bruce McCraw of Konawa; one daughter, Vickey (McCraw) Harjo and husband, Bob of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Chasa Crockett of Elkin, Arkansas, Tiffany Huddleston of Ada, Oklahoma, Sheila Harjo of Konawa, Cheri (Harjo) Dobbs and husband, Scott of Denver, Colorado, Carrie (Harjo) Galaway and husband, Ryan of Denver, Roseann McCraw of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Jake McCraw of Konawa; twelve great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Bernard Lehman; one son, Emmit Douglas “Butch” McCraw; one daughter, Lori “Kathy” (McCraw) Wolf; one granddaughter, Chelsea Rachelle McCraw; one brother, Robert Honsinger; and one sister, Rita Tarpley.
