Zalese Turk

Millie Zalese Turk, 94 year-old former Maud resident passed from this life on March 12, 2011 in Ada, Oklahoma.  She was born March 1, 1917 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents John William Vanmeter and Ida Mae (Jones) Vanmeter. Zalese lived most of her life in Oklahoma City where she was a member of the St. Luke’s Methodist Church.  She was also a homemaker. Zalese is survived by host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Zalese is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Turk and by one brother Elmo Vanmeter and two sisters, Crystal Goss and Mary Ellen Sweat. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.  Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.
