Norman resident, Zachary Shawn Maples, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 31.
Zac, the son of Todd and Rita (Harjo) Maples, he was born August 11, 1992, in Oklahoma City. Zac graduated from Butner High School with the class of 2010. He worked at Wrangler for several years, then he took a job in shipping for Hiland Dairy. He enjoyed floating rivers, riding 4 wheelers, playing his Xbox. He also liked watching basketball, his favorite team was whoever Lebron James was playing for at the time, but nothing was more important to Zac than spending time with his family and friends, especially his daughter Baiah, the light of his life. Zac was a member of the Little Quasarty church in Cromwell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and by his grandparents.
Zac is survived by his father, Todd Maples, of Shawnee; his daughter, Baiah Maples of Seminole; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Stefani Maples of Shawnee; nephews, Dayton and Makyiah; niece, Serenity; his girlfriend, Jennifer Long; and many other family members and friends.
A wake will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Services will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Joe Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Lindsey Family Cemetery in Seminole County. Casket bearers will be Gage Keese, Kordell Hightower, Tyler Powell, J.R. Harjo, Kyron Ballard and Anthony Tucker.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
