Yevonne LaVae (Quick) Drake

Yevonne LaVae (Quick) Drake , age 81 and a resident of Sasakwa, Oklahoma passed away at her home under the loving care of Halo Hospice on Tuesday morning, June 1, 2021.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 at Vamoosa Cemetery East of Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. Wesley Martin will officiate and casket bearers are John White, II, Jonathan White, John White, and Marty Brown.  Visitation will be Thursday, June 3rd from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Yevonne was born January 15, 1940 in Whittier, California to Elmer G. Quick and Nellie N. (Pierce) Quick.  She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, and she married Winfred L. Drake.  Yevonne loved painting, going to church, and gardening.  She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Konawa.

She is survived by her good friends, Artie Nogle of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, and John White, II also from Sasakwa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred L. Drake; her parents, Elmer and Nellie Quick; and one child.
