Winston Harris

Winston Harris, 67 year-old, lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his home in Seminole.  He was born November 18, 1944 in Seminole to parents Floyd Wilbur Harris and Lillie Mae (Shepard) Harris. Winston graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1963.  He went on to serve in the United States Army National Guard. Winston later worked for Sun Oil Company as a welder and later owned and operated Winston’s Welding Company.  He was of the Baptist faith and was also a member of the American Legion. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law; Terry Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma, Shane and Daphne Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany Harris and Shane Hott of Seminole, Oklahoma, Angie Harris-Marshall and John Thomas “Dusty” Marshall of Norman, Oklahoma; seven brothers, Grady Harris of Huntsville, Arkansas, Frank Harris of Copperas Cove, Texas, Larry Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma, Bobby Harris of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Darrell Harris of Denison, Texas, Phill “Spook” Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma, Allen Harris of Seminole, Oklahoma; four sisters, Esther Hopkins of Kendrick, Oklahoma, Fran Chambless of Parker Heights, Texas, Jeannie Melton of Globe, Arizona and Winnie Stillwell of Seminole, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of other family and dear friends. Winston is preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, O.D. Harris. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.  Pastor Marvin Kehl will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery with military honors.
