Winfred Lowe

Winfred Lee Lowe longtime Seminole resident went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 96. He was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas on May 3, 1921 to the late James and Ora Lowe. They moved to the Holdenville area when he was five years old. Winfred served in the United State Army from 1942 to 1945 as a heavy duty mechanic and was involved in campaigns in Africa, Southern  France  and in Central Europe. Winfred earned the good conduct medal, EAME service ribbon, and one silver service star while enlisted. After the war, Winfred married Juanita (Jackson) Lowe on November 23, 1946, in Wewoka, Oklahoma and to this union, three children were born; Bob, Tom and Ann. Winfred was an ordained  Free Will Baptist Minister in 1961 and pastored several churches in Oklahoma. Winfred worked for Continental Oil Company  for over 20 years and later retired from the Chickasaw Telephone Company in 1986. Winfred is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Juanita; his children, Robert Lowe and wife Cherie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;  Ann Walker and husband Ernie of Arapaho, Oklahoma; Four grandchildren: Steve Lowe  and his  wife Carrie of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Kelly Woodward and her husband Steve of Yorkville, Illinois; Kevin Walker and his wife Amber of Inola, Oklahoma;  Jeni Baker of Arapaho, Oklahoma and eight great-grandchildren: Blake, Brandon, Brittany, Xander, Cannon, Payton, Jantz and Jaxson.; brother in law and sister in law, Clinton and Peggy Jackson and a host of other family and dear friends. Preceding him in death are his parents James and Ora Pearl Lowe and one son, Tom Lowe, two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Brother Allen Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma.
