Wilmahelma Newton lifelong Seminole county resident passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Seminole, Oklahoma. Wilmahelma was born June 10, 1940 at New Lima, Oklahoma to parents, Hebert Williams and Lula Bell (Mills) Williams. Wilmahelma was a home health provider and long time employee at the Seminole Hospital and retired as a nurse’s aid. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. Wilmahelma is survived by two sons, Alonzo Newton, Jr. and Troy D. Newton both of Seminole, Oklahoma and daughter, Melodie McGregor and her husband Hayward of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one brother, Emmitt Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma and two sisters, Thelma Reese of Seminole, Oklahoma and Lolite O’guinn of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Three grandchildren, Jason Shannon, Anthony Louie and Shavar McGregor and five great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Larry Payne officiating. Burial will take place at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, Oklahoma. Nieces will serve as flower girls and nephews will be casket bearers.
