Longtime Seminole resident Willie Bond Underwood passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2006 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 60. rnHe was born on June 18, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma to rnTecumseh and Nagie (Harjo) Underwood.rnWillie was a retired Vietnam Veteran, where he was in the 101st Airborne Aircav where he received the Purple Heart. rnrnWillie was a member of the Hitchitee Methodist Church and a Seminole Nation Tribal Member. He was a Mikasuki Band Member and of the ?Sweet Potato? clan. He was also on the Pow Wow trail for a number of years.rnrnHe is survived by five daughters: Jean Wood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Katherine Harjo of Bethany, Oklahoma, Rosie Tiger of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Bonita Underwood of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Bonnie Underwood of Bethany, Oklahoma, and son, William Underwood of Bethany, and a special friend Linda Harrison of Bethany, Oklahoma, also survives him. He is also survived by three brothers: Tecumseh Underwood of Maud, Oklahoma, Victor Underwood of Seminole, Oklahoma and Ted Underwood of Seminole, Oklahoma, four sisters: Jo Kay Berryman of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Donna Gayton of Seiling, Oklahoma, Pam Underwood of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Rhonda Underwood of Ada, Oklahoma. Fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive him. rnrnHis parents, one brother and one sister precede him in death.rnrnHe will be moved to the Hitchitee Church on Monday at 4:00pm. A wake service will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Hitchitee Methodist Church. rnFuneral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the Hitchitee Methodist Church with Mike Harjo, Houston Tiger, Abraham Jackson and Paul Donnie Wolf officiating.
