Willie Jean (Mayfield) Spencer, age 95 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Rev. Steve Lowrance, Pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Konawa, will officiate. Pallbearers are Thomas Mann, Michael Mann, Mark Mann, Robert McAfee, Larry Spencer, and Howard Sewell. Soloist is Jeri Mann. Willie was born to Sara (Hagar) and Johnnie Mayfield on January 25, 1915 in Konawa, Oklahoma. She married the late J. D. Spencer on October 12, 1932 in Konawa. She was a member of the Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, and she loved to cook for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Vonis Spencer and wife, Jo of Globe, Arizona; two daughters, Yvonne Cloud and husband, Richard of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Sandra McAfee also of Broken Arrow; four sisters, Geneva Kelly of California, Mozelle Duncan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Peggy Flatt of Oklahoma City, and Wanda Senier of Littleton, Colorado; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Sara Mayfield; her husband, J. D. Spencer on November 11, 1988; and one brother, Johnny E. Mayfield.
