William Claremore Ransom, age 58 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, and current resident of Oklahoma City, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.rnrnServices are scheduled for Saturday, November 8th, at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa, Oklahoma, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Burial will follow at Grayson Cemetery in Konawa. Rev. Frank Washington will officiate. Pallbearers are Lloyd Arrinwine, Jr., Bryant Bruner, Virgil Shelby, Adam Shelby, Eric Ransom, and Dwayne Ransom. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Starnes, Floyd Jenkins, and Johnny Osborne.rnrnRev. William Ransom was born on November 2, 1949, in Oklahoma City to Henry Ransom, Sr. and Tilda (Willis) Ransom. He married Avetta Griffis on June 9, 1984, at the First Baptist Church of New Lima, Oklahoma. He worked in maintenance, and he also worked in janitorial services for Kerr Lab Environmental Research Center of Ada, Oklahoma. Rev. Ransom was also the pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Church in Konawa, Oklahoma for eight years.rnrnHe is survived by his wife, Avetta Ransom of the home, and one step-daughter, Ebony Murphy also of the home; two brothers, Fred Ransom, Sr. of Oklahoma City, and Henry Ransom, Jr. of Konawa; and four sisters, Izalure Parker and Pearlie Scott, both of Oklahoma City, Martha Arradondo of Konawa, and Viadalia Guess of Prague, OK.rnrnHe is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Tilda Ransom, one brother, Quintell Ransom, and four sisters, Mandy Ann Ransom, Henryetta Hall, Lennette Heath, and Thelma Shelby.rnrnVisitation at the Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa will be from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.rn Funeral Information: November 7, 2008, 1:00 AM
