William Paul Narcomey, 83, longtime Seminole resident, died on May 31, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on February 5, 1928 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma, to Pete Chepaney and Lucy (Hayecha) Narcomey. It gave the family great peace to know that on the day he died, Tuesday, May 31, was the same day 35 years ago his granddaughter, Roberta Onawa Chicharello died, and she came to help her grandfather home to heaven on this same day. William was a graduate of Bowlegs High School and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Psychology. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946 and in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1950 as a corporal. He work for many years in Utah at the DDO as a warehouse supervisor, truck driver and fork lift operator. He is survived by his sons, William Narcomey Jr. of Minnesota, Robert Narcomey of Newsport News, Va., Mike MacClendon and Russell MacClendon both of Ogden, Utah. His daughters Karla”Feather” Narcomey Chicharello of Denver, Colorado, Theresa MacClendon and Debbie MacClendon both of Ogden, Utah. Two sisters Wisey Narcomey and Carolina Narcomey also survive him. His grandchildren Annette Chicharello, Cory Chicharello, Ted Cyrus, Cletus Cayou, and Tiffany Gurle Narcomey , and nine great grandchildren also survive him including Jessie Cyrus. He was was preceded in death by his brothers Phil, Andrew, Jimmy, Bill, Silas,and Johnnie Narcomey and one sister Jeanne Narcomey Thomas several nephews and nieces and four grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children Hannah Mitchell Narcomey and a wife Elaine MacClendon Narcomey. Viewing will begin Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Mr. Narcomey will be moved to the Mekusukey Indian Baptist Church south of Seminole on Sunday for a wake service at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held there on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dorsey Nero officiating. Burial will follow at the Hayecha/Narcomey Family Cemetery east of Bowlegs,Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Ted Cyrus, Cletus Cayou, Jeffery Harjo, David Narcomey, Clyde Narcomey and Gaddy Narcomey. Seminole Nation Honor Guard will give military rites at the graveside. Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma are in charge of the arrangements.
