William "Roy" Lankford

William “Roy” Lankford, age 93 and a resident of Francis, Oklahoma, passed away January 13, 2025 at Ballard Nursing Center in Ada, Oklahoma.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.

Roy was born on August 8, 1931, in Bushyhead, Oklahoma, to Wesley Lankford and Mamie (Haworth) Lankford. He married Geraldine Cloud on April 27, 1956 in Rocky, Oklahoma. Over his lifetime, Roy was a dairyman, a maintenance man, and a carpenter; and spent 25 years as foreman of Meyers Airport Ranch before his retirement in 1997. He was a man who loved to fish, but also was a “fisher of men” always spreading the message of Jesus’ offer of salvation; a good man who walked by faith, a man who was kind of heart, and a man who loved his family.

He is survived by five sons, Jimmy Lankford of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Frank Lankford and wife, Gina of Seminole, Oklahoma, Audie Lankford of Francis, Oklahoma, Ray Lankford and wife, Jodi of Parsons, Kansas, and Roy Daniel Lankford of Byng, Oklahoma; four daughters, Delores Kravchak and husband, Tom of Ada, Oklahoma, Tomasena Lankford of Konawa, Oklahoma, Natasha Wilson and husband, Brian of Vidalia, Georgia, and Tonya Lankford and husband, Keith of Konawa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jerry Lankford and wife, June, James Lankford and wife, Linda all of Hobart, Oklahoma; one sister, Wanda Rogers of Hobart, Oklahoma; two sister-in-laws, Evelyn Coursey, and Betsy Bender of Wewoka, Oklahoma; 30 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; his parents, Wesley and Mamie; three brothers, Banks, Arliss, and Steve Lankford; two sisters, Betty Jones and Norma Jones; and two great granddaughters, Jace and Tesla.
