William Thomas Huddleston II, “Dub,” age 86 of Konawa, OK, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 21, 2018. He was born February 26, 1932 in Konawa, OK to William Edward Huddleston and Mabel Blair Huddleston. Dub graduated from Konawa High School and The University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Dub married Phyllis Marie Anderson in 1955 in Oklahoma City. They have two children; Cary Jones and husband Eric of New Jersey and Sara Waters and husband Hoss of Edmond, OK. They have one granddaughter, Lauren Walters and husband Justin of Edmond, OK. Dub is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Huddleston and Mabel Blair Huddleston and his three sisters; Geraldine Alexander, Mary Beth Knapp and Virginia Kasperek. Dub raised Hereford cattle and Quarter Horses for 25 years and later worked in retail for Harold’s and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers. He enjoyed watching OU football, NY Yankees baseball and fly fishing. Dub was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and a life member of The National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center. He was also a member of The American Legion and The Chamber of Commerce. A celebration of Dub’s life will be held Friday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home located at 200 S. Broadway, Konawa, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Dub to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
