William Henry “Bill” Houck, Jr., 74, longtime Seminole resident, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Seminole, Oklahoma. William was born May 5, 1942, in Seminole, Oklahoma to William Henry Houck and Naoma Louise (Lee) Houck. Bill was retired from Southwestern Bell after 29 years of faithful service. After his retirement in 1992, he pastored a church in Wasilla, Alaska, till 2007. He was a member of the Temple of Praise Pentecostal Church in Seminole and the National Rifle Association. Bill served in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1960 to 1961 and attained the rank of private. He loved outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He collected Hot Wheel Cars and had a collection that exceeded 6000 cars. He loved embroidery and anything to be active with his hands. Bill graduated from New Lima High School in 1960. His passion in life was to share the word of God with everyone, as well as the joy God gives. Bill’s greatest joy in life was spending time with and enjoying his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He married Linda Kay (Lightfoot) Houck on August 1, 1963 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Houck, of the home in Seminole, his mother, Naoma ( Houck) Robinson of Seminole, one son, William Houck III. and his wife ,Melissa ,of Wasilla, Alaska, his daughters, Janet Farrow and her husband ,Tommy, of Seminole and Sandy Kern and her husband, Todd, of Seminole, two brothers, Leonard “ Babe” Houck of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Toby Houck of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his sister, Lisa Owens, of Seminole, Oklahoma, fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Houck, Brothers, Garry Houck, Lucky Houck, Larry Houck and a sister, Lawanda (Onnie) Shaffer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Immanuel Fellowship Church, at 3103 Highway 3 N, Seminole , Oklahoma, with his son, William Houck III, officiating with Pastor Jeff Nance assisting. Bill always said “he wanted anyone that came to his funeral, to dress casual”. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the Swearingen Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends. Casket bearers will be Matt Dewan, Isaac Houck, Levi Houck, Matthew Owens, Damon Forshee and Darrell Hammack. Honorary bearers will be Zachary Eads , Austin Stanley, Grover Holliger and Reagan Houck.
