William H. Dodson

William “Bill” Dodson long time Seminole county resident passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at Seminole, Oklahoma.Bill was born November 10, 1920 at Okemah , Oklahoma to parents, John Roy Dodson and Goma (Stephens) Dodson.  Bill married Norma Jean (Mullins) Dodson in Wewoka , Oklahoma on November 16, 1940. Norma Jean preceded “Bill” in death January 19, 2011. Bill and Norma Jean lived in Seminole from 1949 to 1981, moved to Lake Eufaula for 14 years and then back to Seminole in 1991. “Bill” was employed at Canadian Valley for 18 years he pumped wells for Ray Stephens and currently was a door greeter at Wal-Mart.  Bill was of the Assembly of God Faith. Bill is survived by three daughters, Deloris Jean Earnest of Seminole, Oklahoma , Phyllis Ann Elmore of Sapulpa , Oklahoma and adopted daughters Jamie Elaine Hackler of McAlester , Oklahoma . Bill is also survived by four brothers, Edward Dodson of Wewoka , Oklahoma , Bobby Dodson of Phoenix , Arizona , Jamie Dodson of Cromwell , Oklahoma , Archie Dodson of Arizona . He is also survived by two sisters, Irene Churchwell of Shawnee , Oklahoma and Lois Brown of Phoenix , Arizona . Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John Roy Dodson and Goma Dodson, brothers, A.J. Dodson, Johnnie Dodson, Billy Dodson and Boyce Dodson also preceding “Bill is his sisters, Alpha Lee McBeth and Gereldean Wallace of Phoenix, Arizona. “Bill” is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral service for Bill will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma .
