William James Dobson

William James “Jim” Dobson, 74 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident,  passed from this life Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Stroud Regional Medical Center in Stroud, Oklahoma.  He was born March 25, 1944 in Haileyville, Oklahoma to parents Evelyn Louise (Black) Dobson and Eugene James Dobson. Following his graduation from Haileyville High School, Jim served in the United States Navy.  Upon his return to civilian life he continued his college education earning an accounting degree. On December 18, 1965 Jim married Louise Ann Brown in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In later years Jim worked as a truck driver and as a truck driving instructor. Survivors include 3 sons, James Lee Dobson, Michael W. Dobson and Brian James Dobson, one daughter, Sandra “Kay” Dennis, by one brother, Charlie Dobson, by one sister, Linda Lopez, by six grandchildren, Brannon Dobson, Kyler Dobson, Chelsea Dobson, Jessica Dobson, Shane Dennis and J.D. Dennis.  Jim is also survived by a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  He is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Louise Dobson and Eugene James Dobson, by his wife of 49 years, Louise Ann (Brown) Dobson, by one brother, Ronnie Dobson and by one grandson, Christopher Dennis. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Private family services will be held at a later date.
