William Lee “Bill” Capps, Jr., age 49 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at a hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Ed Bray, Pastor of Cross Timbers Church of Konawa will officiate. Pallbearers are Leo Kuestersteffen, Tony Kuestersteffen, Daryl Kuestersteffen, Carl Capps, Justin McKeel, Chris Buchanan, Paul Gilbert, and Darren Oliphant. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Wilson, Jr., Mark Stoup, Brandon Stoup, Vance Pennington, Charles Palmer, Ed Fixico, Mark Reeves, and Zeb Kuestersteffen. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery. Bill was born on January 29, 1965 in Ada, Oklahoma to William Lee “Bill” Capps, Sr. and Kay (Kuestersteffen) Capps. He earned a Bachelor of Science from East Central University in Ada and was an environmental specialist for the Department of Environmental Quality for the State of Oklahoma. Bill was a member of the Catholic faith, and he loved to hunt, fish, and coach the Konawa Cubs’ Softball Team. He married Berneda Buchanan in Konawa on November 14, 1987. He is survived by his wife, Berneda Capps of the home; mother and step-father, Kay and Bob Harrison of Konawa; one daughter, Courtney Capps of Konawa; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Sheila Capps of Konawa; one sister and brother-in-law, Sheri and Justin McKeel of Konawa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buck and Susie Buchanan of Konawa; five nephews, Tanner Capps, Will Capps, Cooper McKeel, Caleb Buchanan, and Connor Buchanan; four nieces, Amanda Capps, Lyndsay Capps, Carli Capps, and Brooke Taylor Buchanan; and two great nephews, Isaiah and Deaton.
