Willea Harjo

Willea “Crow” Harjo, age 65, passed away March 10, 2020 in Maud, Oklahoma. He was born February 26, 1955 in Claremore, Oklahoma to parents Somie Harjo and Amanda (Little) Harjo. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.  Crow served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Crow worked as an independent contractor at Tinker Air Force Base. He also worked as a security guard for Seminole Nation Bingo. He enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center in Maud, Oklahoma and was a member of the Hitchittee Methodist Church. Crow had no children but helped raised his nieces and nephews; Kyle and Kenna Coody of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Clarice and Greg Hardin of Seminole, Oklahoma, Dawn and Skip Foster of Wolf, Oklahoma, LaSonya O’Guinn of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tommie Burden of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Michelle Burden of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Leslie Joshua of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Noetta Harjo of Norman, Oklahoma, Bree Harjo of Norman, Oklahoma, Sinda Harjo of Norman, Oklahoma and LaDeana Tiger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, brothers; Kenneth Coody and Faye Coody of Seminole, Oklahoma and Tommy Bighead, Sr. and Brenda of Seminole, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Robert Coody, Tim Harjo and Joe Coody, sisters; Noetta Harjo, Jessica Coody and Rosanna Jones, nephews; Micco Coody and Dakota Joshua. Wake services for Crow will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday March 13, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Thlocco and Kevin Fox officiating. Burial will follow at the Harjo-Coody Family Cemetery in Seminole. Casket bearers will be Tommy Bighead II, Raymond Bighead, Kyle Coody, Storm Wise Talamasy, Will Foster and Greg Hardin. Honorary bearers will be David Jones, Tommy Bighead, Sr., Scott Martin, Melvin Hardin and Mark Jones, Sr. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
