Wilbert Ray “Doc” Onstott, 83, passed from this earthly life, Wednesday, July 4, 2017, at Calera Manor Nursing Home in Calera, Oklahoma. Doc was born on March 7, 1934, in Achille, Oklahoma to Penny and Pearl Onstott. He attended and graduated from Achille School in 1952. He also attended Southeastern State University. Doc has been a resident of Seminole, Oklahoma for the last forty years. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were his two favorite outdoor activities. He was a great fisherman and especially loved fishing with his father, Penny, and his two brothers, Butch and Bob, and nephew, Mike Grace. He also loved music and was an accomplished country and western swing drummer. Throughout the years, he worked with many good musicians and recording artists. He loved playing with Mr. Pete Hester, his favorite band leader, and other friends of the Park Street Band of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Doc is survived by sons, Larry Welch of Nashoba, Oklahoma, and Stacy Ray of Hugo, Oklahoma, and daughters, Karen Elaine of Durant, Oklahoma, and Jacqueline Marie of Messer, Oklahoma. He had twelve grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Penny and Pearl Onstott, by his wives, Marcella, Pat, and especially wanted to thank his late wife, Marie, and her family, for being so good to him through his later years, sisters, Dora (Grace) Houston, and Jackie Taylor, and brothers, Bob Onstott and Dewey (Butch) Onstott. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. Services will be conducted by a family friend, Lewis Prewitt. Pall Bearers are, Elmonzo Onstott , Welch Onstott, James Onstott, Ricky Onstott, Aaron Mackey, and Jason Mackey.
