Longtime Shawnee resident Wilbern ?Tip? Dees passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Sulphur Veterans Home.rnrnHe was born on August 19, 1917 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Herby Albert and Letha Pearl (McCurley) Dees. He was a farmer, construction worker and truck driver for many years. He married Beatrice (Jones) Dees in 1951; she preceded him in death on April 18, 2001.rnrnTwo daughters: Caroline Helen Cole of San Jacinto, California and LeKatha Fay Dees of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma survive him. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. rnrnHis parents, three sisters, precede him in death: Blanch Turner, Edna Turner and Leona Russell, and one brother, Verlin Dees of Arkansas. rnrnGraveside services with military honors are scheduled for 2:00pm, Monday, February 5, 2007 at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev.
