Westmoland Gerald

Gerald “Jake” Westmoland, 81, longtime Seminole resident died, July 31, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Gerald was born January 30, 1935 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Thomas Westmoland and Mildred (Bernard) Osborn.  Gerald moved to Seminole, Oklahoma from Holdenville at a young age. He attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1953. He married Norma Ruth Lemmings on December 23, 1954. Gerald worked at Tinker Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic and worked on B-52’s he retired in 2002. Before retiring he worked on heat and air conditioning units as a side business. Gerald was a kind man and had kind eyes, everyone who knew him, loved him. He loved fishing, spending time with his family, was a very funny man who loved to joke with people, quail hunting, playing pool at the Heritage House, Oklahoma University football, Dallas Cowboy’s football, Seminole High School Football,and old time country music. Gerald was a member and deacon at the Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole. He was married to Ruthie Wilson Westmoland on May 26, 2001 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Westmoland, his mother and step-father, Mildred and Ott Osborn, his first wife, Norma (Lemmings) Westmoland who died February 15, 2000, after 46 years of marriage, granddaughter, Mika Charyle Westmoland in 1994, and great grandson Gage Mccaa. Gerald is survived by his wife of the home, Ruthie Westmoland, two sons Robert G. Westmoland and his wife, Vickie, and Mike G. Westmoland and his wife, Charlene, of Seminole, Oklahoma, step daughter, April Jonker of Wichita, Kansas, a brother Allen Osborn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sister, Mary Ann Brown, of River Crest, California, his grandchildren, Tanya Weiss, Kandie Nugent, Brandi Reed, Justin Westmoland, Remington Westmoland, Mikayla Trent, Allen Trent, Lily Grace Jonker, great grandchildren Nikiah, Maci and Ty Parnell, Jessie Weiss, Tanner and Tragan Goodnight, Jase Mccaa, Jaxon Nugent, Taylor, Jaedon and Asher Hennen. Jerimiah, Ethan and Huntter Westmoland. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Little Cemetery north of Seminole, Oklahoma, with Pastor Tim Tate officiating. Casket bearers will be Remington Westmoland, Ethan Westmoland, Huntter Westmoland, Tanner Goodnight, Tragan Goodnight, Jerimiah Westmoland, Allen Trent, Jaedon Hennen and Asher Hennen.
