Wanda Jackson

Wanda Vivaree Jackson, 86 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life December 9, 2010 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.  She was born May 30, 1924 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Bertha Mae Selfridge. Wanda graduated from Seminole High School in 1942.  She went on to work as a welder in the California shipyards.  In her early years she loved to go horseback riding and she also loved to sing, dance and always-enjoyed dressing up.  Wanda later worked for Herman’s Pig Stand in Seminole for many years.  She was also a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation and had a great spice for life. She married Fred Jackson on June 30, 2004 in Seminole after they had met at the Senior Citizen’s Center. Survivors include her husband, Fred Jackson; three daughters, Charlotte Stout of Seminole, Oklahoma, Cherie Bosnos and Linda Galloway both of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Joe, Cindy, Kimberly, Bill and Nick; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Her parents and several other family members preceded Wanda in death. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Rusty Dawson will officiate the service.
