Wanda E. Fife, 62 year-old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born March 16, 1950 in Claremore, Oklahoma, to parents Della (Fife) Stewart and Earl L. Stewart. Wanda earned her associate degree from Seminole State College in 1998. She was also a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (the “Tom Palmer Band”) and a member of Achena Presbyterian Church in Seminole County, Oklahoma (south east of Maud). Wanda had worked for many years as a seamstress at Wrangler Jean Company in Seminole before becoming a full time homemaker. On May 16, 1982 she married Winfred B. Fife in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sadly he preceded her in death on July 18, 2008. Wanda was a huge O.U. “Oklahoma University” fan and many say that she was worse than a teenager on her I-phone. She loved to care for her family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to be at their side if she was needed. Wanda also loved her dog “Pepper.” Survivors include one son, James Fife of Maud, Oklahoma; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tiara and her husband Phillip Kersey of Norman, Oklahoma and Tamara Stewart of Norman, Oklahoma; four step-daughters, Sammye Fife of Maud, Oklahoma, Cheryl Fife of Maud, Oklahoma, Retta and her husband Larry Brennan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Melissa and Randall Hawkins of Ada, Oklahoma; one brother, John and his wife Annie Quillen of Jonesboro, Georgia; one granddaughter, Ava Olivia Kersey of Norman, Oklahoma; 8 step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Wanda is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winfred B. Fife who died July 18, 2008; three sisters, Mabel Weaver, Cora Alsip, an infant sister and by one brother, Hobart Stewart. Wake services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Elder Rick Harjo officiating. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Elder Lewis Fife officiating. Interment service will follow at Little Cemetery with Elder Frank Sewell officiating. Casket Bearers will be: Marc Brennan, Andre Womack, James Kinsey, Bradley Hawkins, Jason Wolfe and Randall Hawkins. Honorary Bearers will be: Ronnie Treat, Lewis Fife, Rick Harjo, Frank Sewell, Blake Fife, Tony Fife, Larry Brennan and Ethan Deere.
