Wanda Endwright-Buchanan

Wanda Lorene Endwright-Buchanan, 74 year-old, Maud resident passed from this life Sunday, January 31, 2010 at her home in Maud, Oklahoma.  Wanda was born July 10, 1935 in Colony, Oklahoma to parents Loyd Earl Hatfield and Rachel Lorene (Hawkins) Hatfield. Wanda had owned and operated along with her husband several restaurants through the years.  They had owned a chain of six pizzerias that went by the name of “Lefty’s” in San Diego, California for over 20 years.  She also owned and operated the “Harvest House” restaurant in Seminole from 1968 to 1970. Wanda was involved with her children serving as a “Den Mother” for her son’s “Cub Scout” organization and a leader for her daughters when they were in the “Brownie” organization. Wanda married Robert Earl “Bob” Endwright on September 8, 1978 in Bryan County, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death in July of 2002.  She later married Ernest Buchanan.  Wanda was also a member of The People’s Church in Maud, Oklahoma. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Shirley Bennett of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty & Charley Webster of Seminole, Oklahoma and Terry & Terry McCracken of Maud, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Carroll & Carolyn Hatfield of Biloxi, Mississippi; one sister and brother-in-law, Dena & Leon Kimball of Agra, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Endwright; one son, Tom Bennett (2000); one daughter, Patty Rose (1995) and by four brothers. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at The People’s Church in Maud, Oklahoma.  Rev. Gus Monreal will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Michael Webster - Chuck Webster -Terry McCracken, Jr. – Bobby McCracken – Steve Muzny and Ronnie VanWinkle. Honorary Bearers will be: Ray Cleary – Bob Miller – Woody Phillips – Slim Crabtree and Leroy Anderson. Funeral services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma (Located at the corner of Broadway & Monroe Streets) Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Tueday (2-2-2010) until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday until service time.
