Walter Haskell Lamb, age 95 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 1st at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Pastor Jerry States will officiate. Burial will follow in Konawa Cemetery. Pallbearers are Walt Lamb, Byron Lamb, Donald Lamb, Dwight Butler, Bob Butler, and Charles Gladden. Honorary Pallbearers are David Roe, Michael Roe, and Jim Watts. Visitation Easter Sunday will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Walter was born on October 2, 1917 in Valliant, Oklahoma to Joseph R. Lamb and Lula A. (Williams) Lamb. Walter served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a retired Lt. Col. Air Force Pilot who had served in the military for over twenty-four years, and he was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ada. He married Wilma Jean (Crenshaw) Butler on July 20, 1986 in Ada. They have lived in Konawa for over 26 years. He loved planes, old cars and talking about the military days. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Lamb of the home; two sons, Rod Lamb of Phoenix, Arizona, and Michael Lamb of Phoenix, Arizona; two step-sons, Bob Butler of Konawa, and Dwight Butler of Oklahoma City; three step-daughters, Sharron Gladden of Konawa, Donna Walker of Konawa, and Teresa Miley of Texas; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters; 1 daughter, Carolyn Watts; and one grandson, Joey Gladden.
