Walter Glendon Carroll, age 80 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Specialty Hospital of Midwest City, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2nd at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Rev. Pam Shirk, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa will officiate. Walter’s nephews will serve as pallbearers. Walter was born on September 25, 1931 in Konawa to Roy Carroll and Frances (Roberts) Carroll. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp., and he married Debra Kauk on June 29, 1978 in Perryton, Texas. He worked as a Drilling Superintendent, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa, the American Legion, and the Shriners. Walter loved to play high school football, and he was a huge O.U. and Dallas Cowboy football fan. He is survived by his wife, Debra Carroll of the home; three daughters, Gwendolyn Walton and husband, Robert of Ft. Worth, Texas, Casi Story and husband, Scott of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Cari Carroll of Ada, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren, Kristina Walton, Caitlin, Jase, Ethan, and Aiden Story.
