WaDean Cowan

WaDean Margarita Cowan, 64, longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, died Monday, March 13, 2017 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. WaDean was born October 6, 1952 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Wallace Reed Cowan and Maxine (Coker) Cowan. WaDean grew up in Maud, Oklahoma and attended Maud Public Schools, later at Mesa Community College where she studied nursing. She was a L.P.N., and loved caring for others. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Maud and a lifetime resident of Maud. WaDean was a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. She is survived by her son John Grove and his wife Tammy of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, her two daughters D’Nay Rowsey and her husband Derek of Ada, Oklahoma, Danielle Wells and her husband Robert of Ardmore, Oklahoma. One brother Wallace Reed “Wally” Cowan of Maud, Oklahoma, her seven grandchildren; Desiree Patterson and Auston Claborn of Ada, Oklahoma, Emily Hamilton and Erin Wells of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Colton Grove and Hailee Grove of Maud, Oklahoma and Lacy Wylie of Ada, Oklahoma, and two great grandchildren Easton Claborn and Roah Wylie of Ada, Oklahoma and a niece Lori Brewer of Maud, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ivan (Booger) Coker and one sister Valera Faye Cowan. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Frank Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at the Thomas Coker # 1 Family Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Wally Cowan, John Grove, Derek Rowsey, Robert Wells, Auston Claborn and Colton Grove. Honorary bearers will be Brian Brewer, Devin Brewer, Clifton Grove, Frank Williams, Jessie Williams, Cody Williams and Al Curley.
