Vonda Lee Mangus

Vonda Lee Mangus, Shawnee resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in Shawnee at the age of 66. Vonda was born on March 31, 1958 in Chicago, IL to Claud William Hall and Betty Lou (Heddlesten) Davis. She was a Shawnee High School graduate. Vonda married Keith Mangus on August 5, 1983 in Shawnee, OK. 

Vonda took great joy in caring for and loving her family. She also enjoyed shopping, Amazon, crafts and cooking. Vonda loved going camping at the Illinois River. She was quoted to say “nature was too loud.” 

Vonda is survived by her mother, Betty Lou Davis; husband, Keith Mangus of Shawnee; two sons, Bryan Bierd of Shawnee, OK and Bobby Bierd of Shawnee, OK; brother, Bill Hall of Shawnee, OK; four grandchildren, Riley Bierd, Braden Bierd, Dalton Bierd and Charlie Bierd; three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many other family and friends. 

Vonda was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Claud Hall. 

Those serving as casket bearers will be Riley Bierd, Braden Bierd, Dalton Bierd, Bobby Bierd, Alfred Gruette and Mike McIntyre. Honorary casket bearers will be Jesse Shackelford and Ross Kinnamon. 

Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK with Pastor Clint Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
