Vivaree “ Vi” Virginia Glover, 83, longtime Seminole resident died, Friday, September 02, 2011 at McLoud, Oklahoma. Vi was born July 18, 1928 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Jefferson and Albirtie Octavia (Partain) Davis Vi was raised in Seminole area and attended grade school at Wolf Schools and then went to Seminole High School and graduated in 1947 and the attended Seminole Jr. College. She had lived in Stroud, Oklahoma for a period of time and moved back to Seminole in 1966. She was a strong Christian lady and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma where she taught Sunday school classes for Teenagers and Adults and would often be called upon to give devotions to the classes. She was also a member of the W.M. U. and served as president for three years. She worked as a Social Worker (APS) for the State of Oklahoma for over 16 years retiring in 1990. She loved craft making, doll collecting, quilting, and reading She was married to Homer “ Gene” Glover on June 14, 1947 in Konawa, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2002. After retirement she and Gene loved to travel, fish and did so much together. Together they were loving parents who gave their two children a great Christian home. A son and daughter-in-law Gary and Mary Glover of Checotah, Oklahoma and a daughter and son-in-law Sheri and Dave Swanda of Newalla, Oklahoma, survive her. Her parents, her husband Gene Glover, a brother Alvie Davis and a sister Velma Coates, preceded her in death. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Russell Vicars officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
