Virginia Dare "Timmie" Mayfiel Starr

Virginia Dare “Timmie”(Mayfield) Mealy Starr, age 80, was tragically taken from those who loved her on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11th at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.  Richard Winters, Pastor of the Church of Christ in Konawa will officiate. “Timmie” was born on October 17, 1924, to Margaret E. “Chick” (Cox) and Herbert “Hub” Mayfield in Konawa, Oklahoma.  She married Jack Starr in 1968, and she was a member of the Church of Christ.  A woman of style and class, Timmie will be greatly missed by her family and lifetime friends whom are too numerous to count. She is survived by one son, Richard B. “Rick” Mealy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Sandy Chamberlain of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one step-son, Randy Starr of West Virginia; one brother, Hoyte Mayfield and wife, Francis of Konawa, Oklahoma; one sister, Billye Noland and husband, Don of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter, Laura Ruth Meally of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nieces, Chris Morriss and Cindy Burris; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Herbert Mayfield; one son, Byron Mealy; and husbands, Jack Starr, and Richard B. “Dick” Mealy.   Funeral Information: February 11, 2010, 1:00 PM Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel located at 217 N.
