Vinson Ray Kirk, age 66 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at his home. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery. Gina Teel will officiate. Pallbearers are Bud Moore, Bo Honsinger, Randy Heard, Carey Kirk, R.W. Vietzke, II, and Cylas Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Kirk, Mike Campbell, and Todd Bowles. Vinson was born on October 10, 1947 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Stephen Kirk, Jr. and Mavis (Column) Kirk. He graduated from Roff High School and served his country as a sergeant in the U. S. Army. He worked as a pipline foreman and was a member of the United Church of God. Vinson married Pamela Smith on February 14, 2005, in Ada, Oklahoma. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Mavis Kirk of Vanoss, Oklahoma; his wife, Pamela (Smith) Kirk of the home; two step-sons, Jeremy Walsh, of Konawa and R.W. Vietzke, II of Ada, Oklahoma; three daughters, Vallerie Vales of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Bridget Campbell of Konawa, and Misty Bowles of Vamoosa, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Cherri Walsh of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Carey Kirk of Fitzhugh, Oklahoma; four sisters, Angela Marvin of Wanette, Oklahoma, Ellen Barnett of Roff, Oklahoma, Brenda Phillips of Ada, and Darlene Mischinick of Mineola, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, Cylas Foster of Edmond, Oklahoma, Shelby Campbell, Michael Campbell, II, and Brandon Campbell of Konawa, Destiny Bowles and Dalton Bowles of Vamoosa, Christina Nunn, Anthony Jay, Alexandria Ofsac of Florida, Kirstin Cannon and Kwynton Cannon of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Derrek Jordan, Shelby Jordan, Katy Walsh, Riley Vietzke, and Tristan Vietzke; and four great grandchildren. Vinson was preceded in death by his first wife of thirty-four years, Carolyn (Reeves) Kirk; one son, Christopher Kirk; one brother, Dwain Kirk; one sister, Irene Davis; grandparents, Stephen Henry Kirk and Susie Kirk and Marion Column, and Maggie Column.
