Vinita Corene Nutter

Vinita Corene (Gibson) Nutter, 94, longtime Seminole resident, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Corene was born July 1, 1919 in Atoka, Oklahoma to William R. and Arra (Johnston) Gibson. On August 26, 1937 she married Jesse Nutter, Jr. in Stonewall, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death after 71 years of marriage. During her life, Corene took care of her home and family, was very active in the First Baptist Church in Seminole, teaching children’s Sunday school and attending as long as she was able. She loved her family and her church family. She and Jesse loved fishing, camping and going in their travel trailer to area lakes. Her husband of 71, years, Jesse, her youngest daughter Mary Beth Davis, her parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters; Sue Streater and her husband Dale of Kellyville, Oklahoma and Kaye Allen and her husband Jimmie of Jones, Oklahoma, one son Jim Nutter and his wife LaDonna of Seminole, Oklahoma, one son-in-law Jeff Davis of Little, Oklahoma, one sister-in-law, Joan Douglas of Paden, Oklahoma. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to give a special thanks to Seminole Care and Rehab and their staff for all the great care Corene received and also Faith Hospice for the care they gave. Casket bearers will be her grandsons: Jay Allen, Greg Nutter, Chad Streater, Owen Davis, Matt Allen, Dirk Streater, Shawn Streater, Clay Streater, Jesse Davis and Jason Nutter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday , May 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church on 404 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Marvin Kehl officiating.
