Sr. and Clara Mae (McGuire) Law on January 18, 1916 near Geary, Oklahoma and grew up there, graduating from Geary High School. She was blessed with eight older siblings, four brothers and four sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. They were, Bernard Law, E.D. Verna married to the love of her life, Frank Gallemore, on January 9, 1938, and they made their home in Seminole OK. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1980. Verna served her Lord and was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church. She was one of three people who reorganized the Fellowship Class. She also sang in the choir and worked in the Kindergarten Department. She belonged to the United Methodist Women, and served on the funeral committee. Verna found great joy in visiting residents of nursing homes and those in hospitals. She loved baking bread, then delivering it to those she knew would enjoy it. Verna was also a member of the Seminole Federated Music Club, she served one year as their president. She sang with the "Selectones", a musical group organized in 1967 and disbanded in 1973. She found joy in her work as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for the late A.B. Stephens, M.D., for 10 years. After his death in 1949, she worked for the late L.E. Pace, D.D.S., and the late Jack Randolph, D.D.S. She retired at the age of 80 1/2 years, having worked in the same office for a total of 47 years. Affectionately called “Auntie Verna” by her nieces and nephews, she became an integral part of all their lives. All of them knew she would never forget a birthday, or a special event in their lives, by sending them a card. This practice of hers has carried on to the great nieces and nephews, the great-greats, and the great-great-greats, along with many of her dear friends. After Verna's father died, she and Frank moved her mother to their home and cared for her until her death. Many of Verna’s family preceded her in death, but many members are celebrating her life, including seven nieces: Claramae Highfill, Marcine Armstrong, Doris Cline, Carolyn Baker, Vicki Cundiff, Marion Barrett, and Dixie Odell, and five nephews: Neil Scott, Sam Scott, E.D. Law, III, VeDon Law, and Mike Law. One sister-in-law, Wanda Law, along with great nieces and nephews, the great-greats, and the great-great-great nieces and nephews also survive her. Six nieces and nephews from Frank’s family also survive her. Then there are the extended families she and Frank loved. Thelma Randolph and family, David and Cheryl Dowell and family, Steve and Kim Norman and family and numerous other friends that held a special place in her heart. All of these descendants and friends of Verna feel truly blessed to have been a part of her life, knowing that she prayed for them as they went through life. She lived her life to the fullest, knowing always that God was first and foremost in her life and that serving Him was her joy.
