Longtime Seminole resident Vera Martha (Loyd) Coombs passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2008 at Integris Seminole Medical Center at the age of 84 years. rnrnShe was born on November 26, 1924 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Curtis Edward and Nellie Etta (Ward) Loyd. rnrnShe married Carl Coombs on May 25, 1971 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She worked at the convention desk at the Stardust, MGM and the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. She has also worked a few years at the Seminole telephone office.rnrnShe graduated from Seminole High School, she was an avid golfer, a teamsters member, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Seminole. rnrnShe is survived by her husband Carl Coombs of the home, two sons and a daughter-in-law: Joe Edward ?Ed? Parsons of Richland, Washington and Bruce and Debbie Thompson of Salt Lake City, Utah, one daughter and son-in-law: Linda Ann Buck and husband Wayne of Highland Ranch, Colorado, one sister and brother-in-law: Cottie and Emery McGruder of Seminole, niece, Sandy ?Tottie? Harber of Seminole and sister-in-law: Glenna Loyd Peek of Englewood, Colorado. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews and other family and friends. rnrnShe is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Nellie Loyd, two husbands, one brother, C.E. Loyd and one sister, Edita Shaw. rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 10:30a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2500 John, Seminole, Oklahoma.
