Veldon Eugene Spicer, 74 Veldon Eugene Spicer, Asher, Oklahoma resident passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 74. Veldon was born January 25, 1941 in St. Louis, Oklahoma to parents, George Garland Spicer and Easter Jewell (Ogle) Spicer. Veldon lived his whole life on the Spicer land, he would just move to the next hill. He was a member of the St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, Oklahoma. Veldon worked in the oil field as a pulling unit operator for 62 years. He worked for Kennedy & Booth, Joe Mills, St. Louis Well Service and Bill Laird Oil Company before retiring in 2003, because of health issues. Veldon married Sharon Kay (McNutt) Spicer, in the home of S.T. and Inez McNutt, at Shawnee, Oklahoma on July 16, 1963. Veldon was married for 52 years to the love of his life. He was his son’s first hero and his daughter’s prince charming. He loved spending time with his grandchildren whether they were biological or not. No limit to his love. If he loved you, he loved you unconditionally. Simple man with a simple life style. One of a kind with dependability, honor and pride. He gave his life to the Lord at the age of 73. His health began to decline 26 years ago, but still through the suffering and pain, worked when he could. Always providing for his family. He was a man with the highest integrity. He hated to leave behind his wife and family, but we knew he would be going to his Heavenly home where there is no pain. “We all carry inside us, people who came before us.” His legacy will forever live on.
