Vama "Bundy" Coon, 65 year-old lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Unity North Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born April 10, 1943 in Hughes County, Oklahoma to parents Bennie Coon and Ella (Att) Coon.rnrnBetter known as "Bundy", he was a longtime faithful member and usher at Spring Baptist Church near Sasakwa. He was baptised by Pastor George Jesse on June 9, 1963. Bundy was faithful in Church activities and made a point to sweep the walkways on Sunday mornings. Though limited by physical problems, he made a point to rake up the magnolia leaves and cones and considered that to be his job. It gave him great joy when he was ask to ring the Church bell or to take up the offering. He was always willing to do things the Church asked him to do and it was with a great joy in his life to be at Church.rnrnAnother one of Bundy's joys was watching his nieces and nephews play High School Sports. He would often arrive at the ball games an hour or two early so he wouldn't miss anything.rnrnSurvivors include seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny Coon of Seminole, Oklahoma, Thomas & Trisha Coon of Konawa, Oklahoma, Joe & Mary Coon of Konawa, Oklahoma, Wallace Coon of Konawa, Oklahoma, Edmond & Barbara Coon of Rochester Hills, MI, Lee & Cindy McNeal of Phoenix, Arizona and Sarney & Janet Coon of Riverside, California; two sisters, Pauline Carpitcher and Abilene Fletcher both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Bundy is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnBundy was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers Billy and Benjamin Coon.rnrnA wake service is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., Monday (3-16-09) at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tueday, March 17, 2009 at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Roger Streetman and Rev. Billy Joe Harjo will officiate. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.rnrnCasket Bearers will be: Joseph Coon, Jonathan Coon, Joshua Coon, Rico Coon, Brad Schoopman, Silas Welch, Derick Harjo and Johnny Coon.rnrnHonorary Bearers will be: Leon Lusty, Josh Puntka, George Burgess, George Postoak, Herman Foster and Allen Foster.rnrnFuneral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.
