Valmae Cecile (Castrogiovanni) Cameron

Valmae Cecile (Castrogiovanni) Cameron, age 51 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life August 25, 2017 at her home. No services are planned at this time, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Valmae, “Val”, was born October 29, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana to John Nicholas Castrogiovanni and Karen Ann (Leer) Castrogiovanni.  After receiving her Associate’s Degree, Val followed in her father’s footsteps and became a dump truck driver like her dad.  She worked until May, 2017, and she enjoyed her job and made many friends over the years.  However, she did not like that it took her away from her family.  No matter how hard life got, she kept going. She is survived by her parents, John Castrogiovanni of Konawa and Karen Ann Castrogiovanni of Konawa; three sons, Cody Castrogiovanni and girlfriend, Lillie Collins of Konawa, John H.R. Castrogiovanni and girlfriend, Jessica Berstler of Moore, Oklahoma, and Hewitt “Fred” Smith, III of Louisiana; three daughters, Antoinette “Toni” V. Walker of South Dakota, and Cherri Castrogiovanni of Louisiana, and Tava D. Cameron of Konawa; two brothers, Randy Murray of South Dakota and Jesse Murray of Missouri; one sister, Jona Castrogiovanni of Iowa; and four grandchildren, Clhoeann and Levi Castrogiovanni, Adeylynn Smith, and Teigan Nytroe.
