Troy Lee Ward

Troy Lee Ward, age 63 and a resident of Sasakwa, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Veteran’s Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Rev. Ed George will officiate, and pallbearers are Shannon Ward, Rob Doolen Richard Clifton, Ross Aldridge, Reese Aldridge, and Shaun Ward.  Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Tyler Ward, Gentry Ward, Deven Mills, and Jaxon Smith. Troy was born on October 11, 1947 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Charlie Leroy Ward and Jessie (Doolen) Ward.  He worked as a roughneck for the oil and gas industry, and he was a cattle rancher. He is survived by Michaelle Ward of the home; his mother Jessie Ward of Sasakwa; two sons, Tyler Ward of the home and Shannon Ward and wife, Mary Ann of Shawnee; three daughters, Karla Ward of the home, Rachel Mayfield of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Rebecca Benham and husband, Jay of Paden, Oklahoma; five brothers, Eugene Ward of Sasakwa, Sonny Ward also of Sasakwa, Oval Lee Ward of Checotah, Oklahoma, Beaver Ward of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and Rocky Doolen Ward of Lexington, Oklahoma; two sisters, Nyoka Davis of Spaulding, Oklahoma and Jackie Clifton of Sasakwa; and eight grandchildren.
