Troy Rhodes

Seminole resident, Troy Rhodes, age 42, passed away, Monday, November 13th, 2023, in Seminole.

Troy, the son of John and Sharon Kay (Lackey) Rhodes, was born June 25, 1981, in Seminole.  Troy graduated from Seminole High School with the class of 1999.  After high school he attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received a degree in film/journalism.  Troy later attended East Central University and studied education.  He enjoyed watching OU football, cooking, shopping, and electronics.  Troy loved to keep everyone informed, he told it like it was and never hesitated to give his opinion, but nothing was more important to Troy than being with his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Rhodes; his aunt, Jody Pack; and his grandparents, Joyce and Charley Lackey and Jewel Hurst.

Troy is survived by his father, John Rhodes, of Prague; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Nokia Rhodes, of Ada; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Robby Callahan, of Seminole; nephews, Joshua Callahan, Caleb and Kelsey Callahan, and Harley Callahan; a niece, Kya Dawn Rhodes; along with Isabella Callahan, Jaden Callahan, Logan Callahan, Jace Callahan, Kinley Callahan, and Rory Callahan; and many other family members and friends.

The family will plan a celebration of Troy’s life at a date to be determined.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
