Tommy Mills

Thomas Jackson "Tommy" Mills, Jr. 76, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at his home on Seminole, Oklahoma. Tommy was born November 7, 1935, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Thomas Jackson and Callie (Palmer) Mills.   Tommy retired in 1997 as Executive Director of the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum. Tommy had previously worked in the agriculture industry at Farmland Industries, Banking, Oil and Gas and Real Estate. He was also co-owner of “The Line” gift shop downtown Seminole.   Tommy was a longtime member of the Seminole Church of Christ. Tommy loved his grandchildren and spending time with them, and they loved him too.  Tommy made a recent bucket list and his one thing he wanted to do was teach his grandchildren how to fish. Tommy loved to fish and loved nature.   Tommy married Vivian Parks on January 28, 1956, in Seminole, Oklahoma.   Tommy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Vivian Mills of the home. His daughters, Piper John and her husband Cameron of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Misty Floyd and her husband Dr. Jeff Floyd of Edmond, Oklahoma. His eight grandchildren, Addi, Erin, Benny, Lucy, Sam and Josie Floyd and Elly and Maisy John, also survive him.   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Seminole Church of Christ at 4200 Hwy # 99 North in Seminole, Oklahoma. Chris Stinnett will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.   Casket bearers will be Jim Hardin, Ken Crane, Stacy Kinsey, Lee Stillwell, David Keck and Thurman Edwards.   In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Village Of Hope, Hope Harbor or Westview Boy’s Home, by contacting the Seminole Church of Christ.   Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
