Tommy C. Mills, 72, former longtime Seminole area resident died, Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tommy had made his home in Sallisaw for the past few years. Tommy was born on November 27, 1938 in Mesa, Arizona, to Robert John Young and Oma Jewel (Stapp) Mills. Tommy grew up and attended schools in Mesa and later came to Oklahoma. He had lived in the Bowlegs area for over 20 years where he owned and operated a cattle ranch. Tommy was a quarter horse trainer for most of his life, which gave him a passion for horses and horse racing. He was a member and licensed through the Oklahoma Racing Commission. He had also work in concrete construction for a time in his life. Tommy was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He loved to go to all the family functions he could and was always known as having a great sense of humor and made the family laugh. Tommy is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Kathy and Gary Babb of Ada, Oklahoma and Tami and Eddie Stebbins of McAlester, Oklahoma. Sister Carol Jean Perry of Mesa, Arizona also survives him. Four grandchildren, Zack Stebbins, Keiko Stebbins, April Babb, Beau Babb and his wife Maranda and three great grandchildren, Alera Dayle Stebbins and Conner and Cade Baldridge also survive him. His former wife Rosalind Childers and Ron of Bowlegs, Oklahoma who was the Mother of his daughters, also survive him along with several nieces and nephews, His parents, one daughter, Tori Christine Mills and four brothers Thurman Mills, A.R. Mills, J.Y. Mills and H.C. Mills preceded Tommy in death. Graveside services are planned for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Wolf Cemetery, south of Seminole.
