Tommy Ray Bighead

Tommy Ray Bighead was born on April 8th, 1951, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Raymond Bighead and Wina Harjo.  T. Ray joined the Lord on November 26, 2021 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

T. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Bighead and Wina Harjo; brothers, John Lee Bighead, Dwight Bighead and Leon Harjo; daughter, Toni Kay Wilson and grandson, James Bighead.

T. Ray is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda Bighead; sons, Tommy Bighead and Nicole Roubidoux of Shawnee, OK and Raymond Bighead of Seminole, OK; daughters, Christy Norman and Andrea Bighead of Moore, OK, Tamara Bighead of Seminole, OK and Uriah and JoJon Smith of Shawnee, OK; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren whom he loved all so deeply.

T. Ray graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and served in the Army as a paratrooper.  He was saved and baptized in 1977 at Jordan Baptist Church. He taught his children to love and trust God in all circumstances.  T. Ray was a very kind and humble man to everyone he met.  T. Ray loved to laugh and be surrounded by family.  T. Ray belonged to Gar Creek Ceremonial grounds.  He was Bird Clan and belonged to Ceyvha band of Seminole Nation.  He served on the Council representing Ceyvha band many years ago.

Casket bearers will be Zachary Billie, Nicholas Billie, Isaiah Bighead, Isaac Bighead, Ostin Bighead, Kyle Bighead and Dalton Harjo.  Honorary casket bearers will be Tommy Bighead II, Raymond Bighead, Scott Martin, Danny Carpitcher, JoJon Smith and Lester Billie.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, November 29, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Wake services will be held at Indian Nations Baptist Church in Seminole on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Lewis Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Bighead Family Cemetery in Cromwell.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
