Tommie Noble Guinn, 78 year-old, former Seminole County resident passed from this life Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born May 31, 1931 in Ray City, South of Maud, Oklahoma to parents Charlie Alexander Guinn and Effie O. (Mitchell) Guinn. Tommie graduated from Asher High School in 1950. He then served in the United States Army National Guard 45th Infantry Company B 180th, where he earned the Army Occupational Medal (Japan); Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Camp Star; and the Combat Infantry Badge. Tommie married Neva Grace Dearen on December 21, 1950 in Konawa, Oklahoma. Following his service in the Army, Tommie worked as a truck driver for Safeway then eventually Homeland until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Teamsters Union #886. Tommie leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years Neva Grace Guinn of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Tommie David Guinn and his wife Gloriea of Mustang, Oklahoma, Dan Charles Guinn of Edmond, Oklahoma, Guy Alan Guinn and his wife Debbie of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Bobby Kent Guinn and his wife Connie of Meeker, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Tommie is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roland, George, Haskell and Floyd Guinn; one sister, Gracie Kirkwood; and by one granddaughter, Courtney Roshell Guinn. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service. Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held at Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
