Thomas R. “Tom” Lemaster, 77 year-old, Wetumka resident passed from this life on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the veteran’s Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born July 1, 1935 in Omena, Michigan to parents Daniel Tillman Lemaster and Regina (Kalchick) Lemaster. In 1955 Tom entered into service in the United States Army where he earned the good conduct medal. Then on October 27, 1959 he married the love of his life Virginia “Sue” Kean in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The couple lived in several different areas throughout the years including Grand Junction, Colorado, Seminole County, Oklahoma where they lived for ten years, and Hughes County, Oklahoma where they lived for twenty years. Tom worked as a heavy equipment operator while in Grand Junction, Colorado and later as a roughneck in the oilfields and then a truck driver for Donco Trucking out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from which he retired in 1995. Tom was a member of the Moose Lodge and loved to hunt and fish. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 54 years, Sue Lemaster of the home in Wetumka, Oklahoma; one son, John W. Lemaster of Wetumka, Oklahoma; one daughter, Dora Sue "Susie" (Lemaster) Sawyer of Seminole, Oklahoma; three brothers, John W. Lemaster of Amarillo, Texas, James Lemaster of Grove, Oklahoma, Dan Lemaster of Mountain Home, Indiana; three sisters, Bertha Oscar of Suttons Bay, Michigan, Esther Walters of Suttons Bay Michigan, Rose Badgly of Oolitic, Indiana; five grandchildren, Air Force Sgt. Portel Bellamy stationed on the island of Qatar in the Persian Gulf, Sean Willis of Seminole, Oklahoma, Brittany Willis of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jessie Lemaster of Denver, Colorado, Jason Lemaster of Kailvaakoni, Hawaii; four great-grandchildren, Marco Loredo, Allie Loredo, Tirzah-Rey Stazia Lemaster, Azariah Lemaster; and a host of other family and dear friends. His parents; two sisters, Irene and Ethel; one infant sister and one infant brother precede Tom in death. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Mitch Williams officiating the service.
