Timothy Chris Akerman

April 21, 1967 — June 7, 2013

Timothy Chris Akerman, age 46 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at his home. A wake service is scheduled for Monday night, 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located West of Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11th at the church.  Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate.  Pallbearers are Bob Parker, Tony Duck, Steve Tyler, Thomas Akerman, Steve O’Connor, Victor O’Connor, and Marcus Harjo. Timothy was born on April 21, 1967 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Christopher Jerome Akerman and Sarah Jo (Sweatt) Akerman.  After going to college, he worked as a cross country truck driver.  He also worked as a roughneck for the oilfield, and he owned an auto upholstery shop.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa. Timothy leaves behind to cherish his memories, his parents, Chris and Jo Akerman of Konawa; 1 Brother, Gary Akerman and wife, Alesa of Davis, Oklahoma; 2 Sisters, Karen Green of Wills Point, Texas, and Brenda Akerman of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and five neices and nephews, Thomas Akerman and wife Shelley, Larissa Akerman, Matt Green and wife, Jennifer, Leslie Green, and Kim Green. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Theresa Akerman and Sam and Martha Sweatt; and one nephew, Andrew Akerman. Funeral Information: June 11, 2013, 11:00 AM Wake Service - 7:00 p.m. Monday, 06/10/2013 at Sacred Heart Church of Konawa and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on 06/11/2013 at the church under the direction of Swearingen located at 217 N.
