Thomas Alan Taylor, 56 Thomas Alan “Tom” Taylor, lifelong Seminole resident passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 56. Tom was born March 20, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents, William Alexander (Dub) Taylor and Wilma Fay (Fisher) Taylor. After attending college Tom entered the military and served in the United States Army, where he was requested to attend West Point. After his time in the army, Tom was employed at the Federal Corporation in Oklahoma City, Sherwin Williams Paint, Pumping Jack Chemicals, Norwesco, worked as a CNA and was assistant to the water supervisor of the City of Seminole. Thomas was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Shawnee, Oklahoma and was faithful to Harvey Road Baptist Church of Seminole where he loved to attend the Men’s Bible Class. He married Nita Taylor on June 30, 2004 in Prague, Oklahoma. Tom had many interests: he loved to play golf, Frisbee golf, dominoes, card games, camping, guns, fishing, collecting tools, and fixing things. He was thought to be the jack of all trades because there was nothing he could not fix. His greatest love was his family. He took care of them from killing every bug he saw to making sure each vehicle had a first aid kit and a flash light. Thomas possessed a laugh that all could recognize. Tom is survived by his wife of the home, Nita Taylor; mother, Wilma Taylor of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sons, Chris and his wife Kristi Splawn of St. Louis, Oklahoma, Darryn and his wife Amanda Splawn of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Julie Stiner and her husband Elijah of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Greg Taylor and his wife Debbie of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Rod Taylor and his wife Taren of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Emrie Splawn, Tyson Stiner and Allie Stiner; his aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. At the Memorial Service there will be an opportunity for family and friends to share their memories of Tom. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Dub Taylor, one uncle, Gary Fisher and his grandparents. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Seminole with Dr. Doug Melton and Rev. Russell Vicars officiating. Serving as honorary casket bearers are: Rod Taylor, Greg Taylor, Dwight Simpson, Gary Allen Fisher, Bobby Walker, Hank Brockway and Ron Sheppard.
