Theodore “Ted” Vernon Jordan, Jr. a Seminole county resident for the past 33 years, passed away at his home, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the age of 79. Ted was born September 3, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to parents, Theodore Vernon Jordan, Sr. and Rubye Lee Mosier. Ted was raised in Clayton, New Mexico and graduated from Clayton High School, class of 1955.  While living in New Mexico, he served for 25 years with the New Mexico State Police retiring in 1982. Ted moved to Seminole county from Lovington, New Mexico and in 2005 after 15 years of employment with Coates Roofing Company, he again retired. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. Ted is survived by his wife, Lynda Gay (Coates) Jordan of the home; five daughters, Kenna Ortega of Lubbock, Texas, Kerri Duquette of Lubbock, Texas, Elisabeth Stinson of Crane, Missouri, Teddi Lu Jordan of El Paso, Texas, Katy Likens of Norman, Oklahoma; two sons, John Jordan of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ted Jordan, III of Sanford, Florida; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Vernon Jordan and Rubye Jordan, and one sister, Naoma Zinck. Graveside services will be held, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Serving as casket bearers are: Ted Jordan III, John Jordan, Leonard Ortega, Bryan Duquette, Isaiah Stinson and Luke Bass. Honorary bearers are: Brock Jordan, Brent Likens, Walter Stinson, Bruce Coates, Brian Coates and Harry Coates. A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
