Thelma Hood

November 18, 1932 — April 13, 2012

Thelma Hood, departed this life Friday April 13, 2012.  He was born November 18, 1932 to Walter and Annie Hood in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.  He was the twelfth of fourteen blessed by this union.  His mother, father and eleven of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Thelma attended Douglas School and Dunbar High School.  He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters: Debra Lewis and husband John L. Lewis, Sr. of Topeka, Kansas and Veronica Benard of Earlsboro; two sisters, Margie Logan of Oklahoma City and Winnie Mae Wilson of Fresno, California; six grandchildren; Sheraelle Lewis of Grand Prairie, Texas, John Lewis, Jr. of Rutherford, New Jersey, Steven Lewis of Hutchinson, Kansas, Elisha Benard, Amber Benard-Davis and husband, Ralph Davis, Jr., Clarence Benard, Jr. and wife Stacey of Earlsboro, Oklahoma.  Six great grandchildren; Phenisha, Kerri, Martell, Eli, CJ and PeeWee of Earlsboro.  One sister-in-law; Mentora Hood of Seminole.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with James K. Grayson officiating.  Interment will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be: Dewayne Daniels, Larry Jeffries, Russel Johnson, Eugene Daniels, Rodney Harris and Maurice Harris. Honorary Bearers: Jimmy Gamble, Donnie Hardeman, C.D. Norman, Joe Brooks, Stanley Logan and Herman Hill.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
